Two men got into a fight over one of them taking up more than one seat onboard a train that was approaching Back Bay Station on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 24, MBTA Police Spokesperson Richard Sullivan told Daily Voice.
The altercation then turned physical, with one man pulling out either a knife or box cutter. The assailant then "slashed the victim two times" and was later taken to a local hospital for treatment, Sullivan continued.
The male suspect, along with a female companion, then fled the scene across Dartmouth Street, according to Universal Hub on Twitter, Universal Hub said on Twitter.
Sullivan also said that the victim was uncooperative with Transit Police, but Universal Hub said the entire train was being driven up to Wellington for investigation.
The incident initially pushed back service by 20 minutes, the MBTA said on Twitter. Service later resumed with residual delays.
No other information was officially released.
